Indian women’s cricket team beat Australia in T20 World cup by 48 runs. Indian won the toss and decided to bat first. India got an amazing start with Smriti Mandhana hitting 83 off 55 balls. She was accompanied by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur who hit 43 off 27 balls. Together they took India to the score of 167/8.
India achieved its highest-ever World T20 score against Australia, men or women in this match.
As for Australia, this match was a challenging one. Alyssa Healy collided with Megan Schutt and had to leave the field due to effects of concussion. She was not able to play which means the fall of ninth wicket ended Australia’s innings.
The bowlers of blue team also played strategically. Anuja Patil took 3/15, as Indian restricted Australia to 119/9 and had a glorious victory. Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav and Poonam Yadav took two wickets each.
Mandhana achieved her highest-ever T20I score and also became the second fastest Indian woman to reach 1000 T20I runs.
After this victory, we hope to see Indian women’s team winning the semifinals too.
