Spotify is one of the most popular music and podcast streaming apps in the world. Now Spotify has entered India and we couldn’t be more excited. Spotify India is now available on all Apple and Android devices.

Spotify is a Sweden-based company and it is reportedly the music streaming service with the highest number of paying subscribers in the world. It has come to India after several long years. India is the 79th country worldwide and the 11th country in Asia to avail this service. Spotify will offer more than 40 million songs, 3 billion playlists and countless podcasts in India.
Spotify India has both free and paid subscriptions. Spotify is charging a subscription fee of Rs. 119 per month and Rs. 1,189 per year. This includes music without ads, downloads and three times better sound quality. Spotify also offers top-up packs for those who don’t want to pay for a recurring subscription starting at as little as Rs. 13 for one day and can cost as much as Rs. 719 for six months. They also have a special 50% student discount Rs. 59 per month (monthly subscription) or Rs. 66 for a one-month top-up.
Apart from iOS and Android devices, Spotify India can be used on platforms such as Xbox One, Windows 10 and smart TVs. They are still working on the versions for Amazon Echo and Google Home.
Spotify has been planning to launch in India since last year. The CEO of Spotify Daniel Ek acknowledged the ongoing process of bringing Spotify to India in March 2018. Recently, Warner Music sued Spotify over licensing rights in India. Spotify has launched in India despite the dispute with Warner Music.
